About Melissa

Melissa is originally from rural Pennsylvania where she graduated from Penn State University with a B.S. degree in Marketing. Melissa focused on marketing analytics early in her career starting in the real estate industry and moving to American Airlines where she further specialized in SQL development, customer segmentation, and personalization.

In 2012, Melissa joined Amazon as a Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer and quickly advanced into management. At Amazon Melissa led diverse, global teams responsible for data science, business intelligence, data engineering, and customer insights for multiple businesses including AmazonFresh, Customer Service, and Prime Video.

Melissa left Amazon after nearly 10 years to lead data strategy for the growing Customer Experience team at Coinbase as the Director of Analytics. At Coinbase, Melissa built a multi-disciplinary data organization that generated millions in revenue, drove significant customer experience improvements, cultivated a strong data-driven culture, and revolutionized voice-of-the-customer insights.

Throughout her career, Melissa maintained a passion for hiring and developing talent. Melissa has conducted thousands of interviews and made hundreds of hiring decisions. While at Amazon, she proactively became a Bar Raiser, and a Bar Raiser Mentor, to further develop her interview skills and promote hiring best practices. As a people manager, Melissa coached and promoted dozens of team members, developing the next generation of strategic data leaders.

Today, Melissa brings that experience to her coaching practice. Her mission is simple: make the job search and career growth process more transparent, fair, and achievable so anyone can reach their own version of success, no matter where they start.
